General Dermatology

What does a General Dermatologist Do?

Here at Peters Dermatology Center, our board-certified dermatologist Peters Dermatology Center and his team are here to prevent, diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic conditions that affect the skin, hair and nails. Whether you are dealing with everyday issues or more complex problems, our team can work with you to create a treatment plan that works.

When you are dealing with any problems that affect the skin, it’s always best to turn to a dermatologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating these kinds of conditions. We provide gentle, understanding and compassionate care to patients of all ages dealing with a wide range of problems, symptoms and injuries. Our goal: to help you feel and look your best.

A general dermatologist provides medical care to treat these conditions and problems,

  • Acne
  • Birthmarks
  • Rosacea
  • Dermatitis
  • Eczema
  • Skin lesions
  • Inflammatory skin disorders and diseases
  • Chicken pox and shingles
  • Allergies and hives
  • Scars
  • Pigmentation disorders
  • Fungal infections
  • Warts
  • Skin infections
  • Psoriasis
  • Skin tags and other growths
  • Vitiligo
  • Skin cancers (melanoma and non-melanoma forms)

Here at Peters Dermatology Center, we are always providing the latest and most innovative techniques and treatments, which means trustworthy, effective and comprehensive care every time you walk through our doors. Some of the treatments a general dermatologist can offer include,

  • Laser therapy
  • Extractions and medical facials
  • Topical and oral medications
  • Medical dermatological services
  • Dermal fillers and Botox
  • Phototherapy
  • Specialty skincare products
  • Surgical treatment options
  • Topical immunotherapy

During your first visit, we will get to know more about you, delving into your medical history to understand any conditions or health problems you might currently be dealing with. We will also ask you specific questions about the symptoms and issues you’re having. From there, we will perform a skin examination. Sometimes a physical exam is all that’s needed to be able to make a diagnosis, but sometimes additional testing is needed.

We can also work with your current medical team to help manage skin-related symptoms that occur as a result of chronic, systemic conditions such as lupus. From reducing the number of breakouts you experience throughout the year to conducting thorough skin cancer screenings, our general dermatology team offers it all.

If you have a question about the different general dermatological services we offer or if you are dealing with skin problems that require further evaluation then turn to the team at Peters Dermatology Center in Bend, OR, by calling (541) 323-7546.
